So you have this Superpower
Oh, yeah. You do. You have a Superpower. Your/Our Superpower is BEING DIFFERENT.
We all have it. It's just that each of the "IT" is unique to each one of us.
And, no, this isn't one of those 'everyone is wonderful in their own way' kinda things. I mean, let's face it most of us feel 'different' inside. Oh, we don't show it on the outside, but we carry around the bits and pieces of all the things we've experienced, seen, heard and felt in our lives, and it comes out of us in the way we talk, the things we like or don't like, and the way we see ourselves in the world.
It's not bad or good. It just is. We keep wandering around in the world collecting more information and reacting, interacting, predicting and becoming. We become our more refined selves. We become the way we want to show up in the world.
Yeah, it's a long process. Takes all our lives in fact. The key is using our Superpower to try on new ways of being. BEING DIFFERENT gives us the power to change who we are any time we want to. It's what I've been doing for a long time.
Oh, now don't get all turned off by thinking I'm one of those people who say they've been doing some kind of soul searching and "growing" that's got them to some great state of finding their true self, or some other rubbish like that.
Nope. Not me. My Superpower gets a real workout. I'm changing directions all the time. HA! Even when it's not on purpose. Being a different me has been my path. And, yes, sometimes it feels like I'm right back where I started. But, in reality (mine anyways) I'm different every day. I come up with new ideas. I think new thoughts. I bend in different directions.
So, getting down to the current incarnation my Superpower has offered me-
I am an Artist. A painter. I make paintings and hope other people like them as much as I do. As a way to share my difference, I offer my paintings to you on shoes. I love wearing my art and I thought you might too. Because...well, you have the same Superpower I do. And, if there's one thing I know about Being Different it makes you look for other things that are different too.
