Layer upon layer this painting just kept getting reworked and reworked. I’m sure it’s very tired as it’s been sleeping in my studio for quite awhile now. It kept giving more and more as some canvases do when the artist just feels out of sorts. When I’m feeling that way, I usually add and subtract from a canvas over and over until it gets too heavy to work anymore. Lots of paint, but good for the soul.
